Technically yes, they are eating plant life. Emphasis on the word life. Vegetables and fruits are grown. they use photosynthesis to get energy from the sun and grow with water, soil, and sun. Therefore, yes they do destroy lives still, EVEN THOUGH they aren't killing an animal. Hope this helps.
