Children will use the Make a Ten strategy in this lesson, along with other strategies. Remind children that if they are adding two numbers such as 8 + 5, they can regroup the numbers to make adding easier. Tell children that they can take 2 from the 5 and add the 2 to 8 to make a ten. Also remind them that they must remember to subtract the 2 from the 5, leaving a 3, so they add 10 and 3 and get 13. Tell children that they will use this strategy to add two-digit numbers.

Materials: overhead projector, ten-frames and counters, tens and ones workmat, bundles of 10 craft sticks and single sticks, large number line, and large hundred chart

Preparation: Prepare a tens and ones workmat and a ten frame for use on the overhead. Make 9 bundles of craft sticks, 10 per bundle, using rubber bands to hold them together. Or use tens and ones blocks. Make a large number line and hundred chart for the classroom.

Prerequisite Skills and Concepts: Children should know the addition facts to 20 and the strategies used in learning them.

The population of bald eagles in Forest National Park is declining at a rate of 14% per year. The following expression represent
neonofarm [45]

We know that the population is declining at a rate of 14% per year.

The expression is:

N ( x ) = 206 * ( 0.86 ) ^ x

where x stays for years.

If we want to find the rate at which the population is declining per month we have to find:

\sqrt[12]{0.86} = 0.9875

And 0.9875 ≈ 0.99

There are 12 months in a year so the exponent is: x/12

Answer:

b. ( .99 ) ^ x/12

Mary loves eating fruits.Mary paid $7.98 for each of 2 berries and $ 5.99 for 3 peaches with 2 $20 dollars.How much change did M
kupik [55]

Answer:

6.07

Step-by-step explanation:

We know that Mary has two twenty dollar bills, equaling to forty dollars in total.

So lets start on the first few things she buys, the berries, each costing 7.98 dollars and cents, since she only bought two, that means we need to multiply 7.98 by 2

==> 15.96 dollars and cents

Now we can take it out of forty.

    $ 40.00

-    $ 15.96

-------------------

    $24.04

Now we only have 24.04 dollars and cents.

Now for the next few items, the peaches which costs 5.99 each, then since he only bought 3, we multiply 5.99 three times.

==> 17.97 dollars and cents

Now we can take it out of 24.04.

     $24.04

-     $ 17.97

--------------------

      $6.07

Mary has 6 dollars and 7 cents in change.

Hi there!

\large\boxed{a = 6 m/s^{2}}

Use the kinematic equation to solve for acceleration:

a = \frac{v_{f}-v_{i}}{t}

Where:

vf = final velocity

vi = initial velocity

t = time

Plug in the given values:

a = \frac{65-35}{5}\\\\a = 30 / 5  \\\\=6 m/s^{2}
