Mathematics

Answer: BC is not a tangent line because m∠ABC≠90°.

Step-by-step explanation:

From the given picture, we have given a triangle ΔABC, in which

∠A=25° and ∠C=60°, AB is the radius of the circle.

if BC is tangent to circle then ∠B must equals to 90°because tangent line makes right angle with the radius of the circle.

Since, we know that by angle sum property of a triangle , the sum of all angles of triangle is 180°.

Therefore, in ΔABC

∠A+∠B+∠C=180°

⇒∠B=180°-∠A-∠C

⇒∠B=180°-25° -60°

⇒ ∠B=95°≠90°

⇒ BC is not tangent line .

Naddika [18.5K]
7h+3s=27.95 subtract 7h from both sides

3s=27.95-7h  divide both sides by 3

s=(27.95-7h)/3

Then we are told:

5h+4s=23.4,  using s found above makes this equation become:

5h+4(27.95-7h)/3=23.4  multiply both sides by 3

15h+4(27.95-7h=70.2  perform indicated multiplication on left side

15h+111.8-28h=70.2 combine like terms on left side

-13h+111.8=70.2 subtract 111.8 from both sides

-13h=-41.6  divide both sides by -13

h=$3.20

A box has a volume of 308 cm cubed. Its height is 4 cm greater than its length. Its length is 3 cm greater than its width. What
kifflom [539]

Answer:

4 cm.

Step-by-step explanation:

Given:

A box has a volume of 308 cm cubed.

Its height is 4 cm greater than its length.

Its length is 3 cm greater than its width.

Question asked:

What is the width of the box?

<u>Solution</u>:

Let width  = x\ cm

Length = x+3\ cm

Height = x+3+4=x+7\ cm

<u>As we know:</u>

<u />Volume\ of\ box=length\times width\times height

308=(x+3)\times x\times(x+7)\\ \\ 308=(x^{2} +3x)(x+7)\\ \\ 308=x^{2} (x+7)+ 3x(x+7)\\ \\ 308=x^{3} +7x^{2} +3x^{2} +21x\\ \\ 308=x^{3} +10x^{2} +21x\\ \\ Subtract\ 308\ from\ both\ sides\\ \\ x^{3} +10x^{2} +21x-308=0\\ \\ factor\ left\ side\ of\ equation\\ \\ (x-4)(x^{2} +14x+77)=0\\ \\  Set\ factors\ equal\ to\ 0.\\ \\ x-4=0 \ or\  x^{2} +14x+77=0\\ \\ \\

As width can never be in negative, x= 4\ cm

By substituting the value:-

Width  = x\ cm = 4 cm

Thus, width of the box is 4 cm.
