In the past four decades, China has experienced several economic and social changes, their economy has developed and basically boomed, especially since the early XXI century. An example of this is their "reform and opening up" policy, starting in the late 70's, they decollectivized their agriculture and opened the country to foreing investment.

The country has experienced some social change as well, due to the prosperity the economy has brought, but compared to the economic changes, the social change has been small. Chinese society still has serious issues like information censorship, human rights violations or lack of enviromental care.

PLATO ANSWER:

I agree with the statement. Since Deng Xiaoping’s leadership in China, there have been many economic reforms in the People’s Republic. As a result, more job opportunities have been generated, China has attracted foreign business, and the quality of life has improved for many Chinese citizens. However, the fight for democracy and better human rights in China still continues. So, although the economy is strong, I don’t think that China has focused enough on bringing about social changes in the country.

What was richard nixon's “southern strategy” for winning the presidential election in 1968?
rjkz [21]

Answer:

The Southern strategy refers to the strategy put in place by the Republican Party to seduce the white electorate of the South of the United States who traditionally voted Democrat. This was the main strategy of Richard Nixon's campaign during the 1968 presidential election.

Explanation:

Republicans dominate the southern US since they managed to win the conservative and racist white vote thanks to the so-called "southern strategy" launched by President Richard Nixon in 1968. This was a successful offensive to capture these voters, irritated with the support of the Democrats to the campaign of civil rights for the blacks, who threw themselves into the arms of this party while the white conservatives allied themselves with the Republicans.
