<span>As the scientific method involves observing and gathering data at its core it would have a negative effect on the geocentric theory. Geocentric theory stated that the universe revolved around the Earth but as scientist used the scientific method of observation they were able to realize that the planets were actually heliocentric, or revolving around the sun.</span>
