Answer: d. All of the above are true.

If an organism lives currently in a specific environment, it does not mean that it cannot spread further on due to changes. A good example are invasive species that under human influence have spread in many areas of the globe where they have had a negative impact on native ecosystems.

Our planet is a complex system with many interconnected parts. Thus, what happens in one region can affect many other regions as both air and water move globally. The same is true for locally released carbon dioxide that will result in a local increase in air temperature. However, this can change the global air currents or CO_{2} itself can move and accumulate in other regions.

Where do duplicated chromosomes line up during metaphase?
Mekhanik [1.2K]
During metaphase, the cell's chromosomes align themselves in the middle of the cell through a type of cellular "tug of war." The chromosomes, which have been replicated and remain joined at a central point called the centromere, are called sister chromatids.

Growth is accompanied by two factors...

a) by increase in ___ b) increase in ___
nata0808 [166]

The correct answers are sex hormones and thyroid hormones.

Hormones

In multicellular animals, a hormone is any member of a class of signaling molecules that is carried by complex biological mechanisms to distant organs to control physiology and behavior. The proper development of fungi, plants, and animals depends on hormones. The broad definition of a hormone (a signaling molecule that functions beyond from its point of production) allows for the classification of a wide range of molecular classes as hormones. Eicosanoids (such as prostaglandins and thromboxanes), steroids (such as oestrogen and brassinosteroid), amino acid derivatives (such as epinephrine and auxin), protein/peptides (such as insulin and CLE peptides), and gases are among the substances that can be termed hormones (e.g. ethylene and nitric oxide).

In humans, sickle-cell anemia is caused by an allele that results in abnormal hemoglobin that sickles red blood cells in certain
DiKsa [7]

This is an example of balanced polymorphism. This occurs when the heterozygous individuals persist in a population because homozygous individuals are less able to survive compared to the heterozygous individuals. In the case of sickle-cell anemia, individuals with two copies of the β-globin sickle-cell allele develop sickle-cell disease and generally don't survive into adulthood, whereas individuals with one copy of the β-globin sickle-cell allele and one β-globin wild-type allele have functional red blood cells that are also resistant to malaria. We can expect this example of balanced polymorphism to occur in areas prone to malaria.
