(3x + 2) ( x - 2) = 0
3x (x-2) + 2(x - 2)  *distributive property of multiplication
3x² - 6x + 2x - 4
3x² - 4x - 4 = 0

2/3 * 1/8 = 2*1 / 3*8 = 2/24 :
2/24 can be simplified into 1/12. 
divide 2 by 2 to get 1. divide 24 by 2 to get 12.

3 3/4 ÷ 1 1/2

convert mixed fractions to fractions.
3 3/4 = (3*4+3)/4 = 15/4
1 1/2 = (1*2+1)/2 = 3/2

15/4 ÷ 3/2 ⇒ 15/4 * 2/3 = 15*2 / 4*3 = 30/12
30/12 can be simplified to 10/4
30 divide by 3 to get 10. 12 divide by 3 to get 4.
10/4 can be simplified to 5/2
10 divide by 2 to get 5. 4 divide by 2 to get 2.
