Further Explanation

Cystitis is inflammation (inflammation) of the bladder. This condition is very disturbing comfort. However, this disorder often does not cause serious problems because patients can recover in a few days. The main cause of bladder inflammation is a bacterial infection.

Cystitis is more experienced by women. This is caused by the size of the urethra (urinary tract) in women is shorter than in men. As a result, bacteria from around the anus easily enter the bladder.

Symptoms of cystitis

Common symptoms that mark the appearance of cystitis include:

 • Frequency of small urination that exceeds normal with small amounts.
 • Pain or burning sensation (burning) when urinating.
 • Urine is cloudy or pungent.
 • Pain in the lower abdomen.
 • Blood in the urine.
 • The body feels unwell or has a fever.

Cystitis in children can cause symptoms such as fever with body temperature exceeding 38 degrees Celsius, decreased appetite, weakness, vomiting, frequent bedwetting, and fuss.

Ciprofloxacin is an antibiotic to treat various types of bacterial infections. This drug is available in the form of tablets, injections, and eye drops.

The ciprofloxacin drug contains the active ingredient ciprofloxacin Hcl which has a way of working to stop bacterial growth. Therefore, this drug is not used to treat infections caused by viruses, such as common cold (cold cough) or flu.

Warnings Before Using Ciprofloxacin

 • Please be careful and tell your doctor if you are suffering from heart problems, myasthenia gravis, hypokalemia, bone, and joint disorders, nerve disorders, and mental disorders.
 • Tell your doctor if you have a history of diabetes, hypertension, seizures, head injuries, liver disease, and kidney disease.
 • Ciprofloxacin can cause dizziness or drowsiness. Avoid doing activities that require full focus, such as driving a vehicle or operating machinery.
 • Let your doctor know if you plan to vaccinate. Ciprofloxacin can inhibit the effectiveness of certain vaccines, especially typhoid vaccines.
 • The use of ciprofloxacin in the elderly should be done carefully because it increases the risk of heart problems and damage to blood vessels.
 • Avoid drinks that contain caffeine while taking ciprofloxacin, because it can cause side effects of palpitations, difficulty sleeping, and anxiety disorders.
 • Contact your doctor immediately if an allergic reaction or overdose occurs after using ciprofloxacin.
