Ans. Option (a).

Edward Jenner first developed a successful vaccine for smallpox in 1796. He used the observation of milk maids who were become immune to smallpox after being infected by cowpox as they were became immunized to smallpox.

It is because the virus that causes cowpox is similar to smallpox virus. When those milkmaids got infected with cowpox, their immune system made antibodies that can also kill virus for smallpox and thus, they did not get infected by smallpox.

Thus, the correct answer is option (a).

Briefly, one can categorize the 3 types of boundaries as so: At convergent boundaries, the two tectonic plates are coming closer to each other; at divergent boundaries they are increasing they move away from each other and at transform boundaries the plates are moving parallel to their boundary. Based on this, all boundaries will be divergent boundaries.

Answer:

(2⁵)²: 1024 combinations

Explanation:

In this case, the chromosome haploid number (n) of the target species is equal to 10, and therefore its diploid number (2n) is equal to 5 (i.e., somatic cells in the target species contain 5 pairs of chromosomes). That means that one individual can produce 2⁵ or 32 different gametic combinations. Moreover, the number of possible combinations that emerge from paring different gametes (sexual reproduction) can be calculated as (32)² = 1024 combinations.
