Answer:

21

Step-by-step explanation:

You have 7 options for two toppings, to find the numer of combinatios you need to do the following:

\frac{7*6}{2} =\frac{42}{2} =21

this is because you have 7 toppings, so for the first one you are going to choose you have all the 7 options available, then for the second one, since you already picked one, you have 6 options left. This is why you multiply 7*6 =42

and finally divide by 2 to eliminate the duplicates. For example in the 42 options you have both pepperoni with ham, and ham with pepperoni, this are really the same combination just in a different order, so you must divide by two.

The answer is 21 combinations

The group of seventh graders will have 5 groups of five: 5 is the greatest multiple of 25, or 5*5=25. Then for the sixth graders there will be 4 groups of 5: because 4&5 are the greatest factors of 20 and you want the most amount of kids per group, you would have 5 kids in each group. Hope this helps.

Explain in easy terms, how the signs of the last terms of the two binomial factors of a trinomial are determined?
shutvik [7]

Explanation:

It helps to understand the process of multiplying the binomials. Consider the simple case ...

 (x +a)(x +b)

The product is ...

 (x +a)(x +b) = x² +(a+b)x + ab

If the constant term (ab) is negative, the signs of (a) and (b) are different.

If the constant term (ab) is positive, the signs of (a) and (b) will both match the sign of the coefficient of the linear term (a+b).

___

Of course, the sum (a+b) will have the sign of the (a) or (b) value with the largest magnitude, so when the signs of (a) and (b) are different, the factor with the largest magnitude will have the sign of (a+b), the x-coefficient.

Example:

 x² -x -6

-6 tells you the factors will have different signs. -x tells you the one with the largest magnitude will be negative.

 -6 = -6×1 = -3×2 = ... (other factor pairs have a negative factor with a smaller magnitude)

The sums of these factor pairs are -5 and -1. We want the factor pair that has a sum of -1, the coefficient of x in the trinomial.

 x² -x -6 = (x -3)(x +2)
