Washington beat Howe to Breed's Hill and had his men ready to fight and defeated the British.
George Washington had been named the commander-in-chief of the continental army was headed to Massachusetts when British General Howe had led a force of 3,000 soldiers near Moulton's hill south of Breeds Hill. The fighting resulted to 1,054 British casualties their most massive toll while Americans suffered 441, most of them during the retreat. In early March Washington occupied Dorchester south of Boston, and when Howe realized this, he knew his position in the city was untenable; the city was impossible to defend in the heart of the enemy territory.

11111nata11111 [884]

Basically the reason why Vietnam won because the Vietnamese wanted to win more than the Americans did. There were a couple of reasons for this. First, the Americans were an invading force, and the Vietnamese were fighting on their own soil. Second, the Americans were not willing to make an all-out commitment to win.
