Explanation:

<em> Containmen</em>t was the foreign policy of US government to contain the spread of Soviet Influence in 1940's. It is also known as a cold war policy of US and its allies at the end of World War Two. This policy represented a middle position between rollback and detente. It was an outcome of Truman doctrine and was announced by President Harry S. Truman on March 12, 1947.  Later the Internal Security act of 1950 was passed into a federal law. President Truman had vetoed it but the <em>congress enacted it.</em>

*Popular Sovereignty
-The people are the only source of government's power.

*Checks and Balances: No one branch can become so powerful in a democracy as to destroy this system.

*Separation of Powers:Prevents abuse of power and safeguards our freedom.

*Limited Government: These laws create boundaries beyond which the government is not allowed to go and powers delegated to it are the only powers it has.
