A. The Use of Sarcasm and D. The Rhetorical Question

Kennedy used parallelism and sarcasm in his inaugural speech to capture the people’s attention. He also made use of rhetorical questions to achieve the goals of his speech. His goals and purpose were well emphasized by using antithesis.

The correct answer is letter b. the use of repetition. The part of the speech that is so effective in reinforcing Kennedy's message is that it shows repetition. In this poem, what is the significance of the poet’s comparison of love to "childhood’s faith"?
Rama09 [41]
Well, you can analyze the poem any way you want, poetry is open to everyone's interpretation. I believe that when the poet, Elizabeth Barrett Browning, compares love to "childhood's faith," she wants to show the innocence of that love. Children have blind faith in their parents, friends, etc. and can be quite naive, the way her love is as well. However, she can also be talking about the power of her love, because a child's faith is unbreakable - it is so strong, just as much as her love. Hope this helps!

Identify the underlined clauses either as subordinate or independent. 1. Because he ran, he was able to catch the bus. subordint
d1i1m1o1n [39]

Answer:

The question is not complete, as none of the clauses in the sentence are underlined, however, I will give you the type of each of the two clauses:

Because he ran: (subordinate clause)

he was able to catch the bus. (independent clause)

Explanation:

A clause is a part of a sentence, and a clause contains a verb.

Subordinate/dependent clauses are clauses that cannot stand alone when isolated from a sentence, and still make complete sense, instead, they help to give further meaning to the main/independent clause. In this case "Because he ran", is not a complete thought on its own, as it leads to asking the question "so what?"

Independent/main clauses can stand alone and still make sense. In this example "he was able to catch the bus" can stand alone and still make sense.

Write a sentence using correct parallel structure.
Marat540 [252]

Parallel structure should be used when you connect clauses with a coordinating conjunction such as: for, and, nor, or, but, so, or yet. Some examples of this include: Correct: Every morning, we make our bed, eat breakfast and feed the dog. Incorrect: Every morning, we make our bed, eating breakfast and feed the dog.
