E) Construct a tangent from an external point

The external point, in this case, is point M. In order to find a tangent from an external point, you would normally draw a segment from the center of the circle to the point. Then you would find the midpoint of that segment and use your compass to draw another circle with the midpoint as the center. The point where the circle you just drew and the original circle intersect, is the point of tangency. From there, you can draw a line that goes through the point of tangency and the external point. Hope this helps!

What is the vertex of the quadratic function fix=(x-8)(x-2)
VikaD [51]

Answer:

Vertex: (5, -9)

Step-by-step explanation:

fix = (x-8)(x-2)

fix = x^2 - 2x - 8x + 16

fix = x^2 - 10x + 16

a = 1, b = -10, and c = 16

To find vertex:

x = -b/2a

x = -(-10)/2(1)

x = 10/2

x = 5

y = 5^2 - 10(5) + 16

y = 25 -50 + 16

y = -9

Vertex: (5, -9)

Sergio039 [100]

Answer:

Adult tickets=275

Step-by-step explanation:

form 2 equations from the given info.

x+y=611

y=x+61

x being the adults and y being the students tickets

then substitute the y equation into the first equation.

x+x+61=611

2x+61=611

2x=550

x=275

and you can check by putting 275 back into the original equations :)
