Complete question :

A welder drops a piece of red-hot steel on the floor. The initial temperature of the steel is 2,500 degrees Fahrenheit. The

ambient temperature is 80 degrees Fahrenheit. After 2 minutes the temperature of the steel is 1,500 degrees. The function

f(t) = Ce^-kt + 80 represents the situation, where t is time in minutes, C is a constant, and k is a constant.

After 2 minutes the temperature of the steel is 1,500 degrees. After how many minutes will the temperature of the steel be

100 degrees and therefore safe to pick up with bare hands? Round your answer to the nearest whole number, and do not.

include units.

Answer:

Kindly check explanation

Step-by-step explanation:

Given the exponential function :

f(t) = Ce^(-kt) + 80

t = time in minutes ; k = constant ; C = constant; Initial temperature = 2500 = temperature at t = 0

Hence,

2500 = Ce^k*0 + 80

2500 = C + 80

C = 2500 - 80

C = 2420

Temperature after 2 minutes ; t = 2 minutes

1500 = 2420e^-k*2 + 80

1500 = 2420e^-2k + 80

1500 - 80 = 2420e^-2k

1420 = 2420e^2k

1420 / 2420 = e^-2k

0.58677 = e^-2k

Take the In of both sides

In(0.58677) = - 2k

−0.533122 = - 2k

k = 0.533122 / 2

k = 0.2665

k = 0.2667

Time at which temperature falls to 100

f(t) = Ce^(-kt) + 80

100 = 2420 * e^(-0.267t) + 80

100 - 80 = 2420 * e^(-0.267t)

20 = 2420 * e^(-0.267t)

Divide both sides by 2420

0.0082644 = e^(-0.267t)

Take In of both sides

−4.795790 = - 0.267t

Divide through by - 0.267

t = 17.96176

t = 17.96 minutes

How many ways are there to move from one corner of a cube to the diagonally opposite corner, in three moves, each of which trave
Ulleksa [173]

Answer: 6 ways

there are 6 ways to move from one corner of a cube to the diagonally opposite corner in three moves

Step-by-step explanation:

Given that;

-It's restricted to three moves.

-It has to move from one diagonal to its opposite diagonal.

-it can only move through the edges.

Hence, in the first move.

We have three(3) different options that is three different possible moves that can lead us to the final destination.

The second move.

We have two (2) different possible moves each

The last move

We have just one(1) possible move.

To get the total possible ways, we will multiply the possible options for each move.

Move 1 = 3 options

Move 2 = 2 options each

Move 3 = 1 option each

3 × 2 × 1 = 6 ways

elena-14-01-66 [18.8K]
It's a proportion.
2 is to x as 15 is to 9, or 2/x = 15/9.
Multiply the means and extremes
15x = 18
divide both sides by 15 to get x by itself.
x = 1.2

In Jack's basement, there's an area that is 6 feet long and 5 , 5 feet wide for the kids to play ping pong. In Mike's basement,
zzz [600]

Mike's area basement is 2 times larger than Jack basement area.

<h3>Area of a rectangle</h3>
  • area = lw

where

l = length

w = width

Therefore,

Jack's basement area:

length = 6 ft

width = 5 ft

  • area = 6 × 5 = 30 ft²

Mike's basement area;

length = 12 feet

width = 5 feet

  • area = 12 × 5 = 60 ft²

Therefore, Mike's area basement is 2 times larger than Jack basement area.

Mike's basement area = 2(Jack basement area)

60 = 2(30)

To find value of X
We can use Pythagoras theorem...
(BC)^2=(AB)^2+(AC)^2
=>(X)^2=(5)^2+(5 root3)^2
=>(X)^2=25+75
=>(X)^2=100
=>X=root 100
