Exhibit 9-2 The manager of a grocery store has taken a random sample of 100 customers. The average length of time it took the cu

stomers in the sample to check out was 3.1 minutes. The population standard deviation is known to be 0.5 minute. We want to test to determine whether or not the mean waiting time of all customers is significantly more than 3 minutes. The test statistic is _____. a. .056 b. 1.96 x. 2.00 d. 1.64

Answer:

c. 2.00

Step-by-step explanation:

The value of the test statistic is the value of t, given by

t = \frac{\overline{x} - \mu_{0}}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}}

In which \overline{x} is the mean of our sample, \mu_{0} is the mean we are testing, s is the standard deviation of the sample and n is the size of the sample.

In this problem, we have that:

\overline{x} = 3.1, \mu_{0} = 3, s = 0.5, n = 100

So

t = \frac{\overline{x} - \mu_{0}}{\frac{s}{\sqrt{n}}}

t = \frac{3.1 - 3}{\frac{0.5}{\sqrt{100}}} = \frac{0.1}{0.05} = 2

So the correct answer is:

c. 2.00

What is the the value of ∣9∣
xxTIMURxx [149]

Hey there! I'm happy to help!

This symbol is an <u>absolute value</u> symbol. It means that we are looking for that number's distance from 0. There is no such thing as a negative distance; the distances are all positive, so both ∣9∣ and ∣-9∣ have a value of 9.

Have a wonderful day and keep on learning! :D

Find the product (4x-3) (3x+8)
m_a_m_a [10]

Hi there!

Assuming "Find the product" means multiplying (4x-3) by (3x+8) and factor to it's simplest form the answer would be:

12x²+23x-24

The way you solve this is by using the distributive property of multiplication as shown below:

Start by multiplying -3 from (4x-3) by everything in (3x+8)

3x*(-3) = -9x

8*(-3) = -24

Once you've done that you then multiply everything 4x

4x*8 = 32x

4x*3x = 12x²

(Note: when multiplying two of the same variables like x it means you are multiplying x by itself which is the same as x²)

When you put all of this together it looks like this

12x²+32x-9x-24

from there we combine like terms

32x-9x = 23x

to get

12x²+23x-24

I hope this helps!

God bless,

204/306 equivalent ratios
Fantom [35]
You would first find out the greatest common factor of 204 and 306 which is 102

204 divided by 102 which is 2
306 divided by 102 which is 3

So the answer is 2/3
