Answer:

1624 units²

Step-by-step explanation:

See attachment for the figure

As, ∠EAB  = ∠CFD

and ∠ABE  = ∠FCD

We can say that by AA congruency,  ΔCFD  is similar to ΔBAE

Therefore, BA / EB = CF / DC

BA x DC   =  EB x CF    (since EB = CF )

BA x DC =  EB²

28 x 58  = EB²   =>  area of square BCFE

area of square BCFE = 1624 units²

Therefore, the area of square BCFE is 1624 units²

A Scout on top of a 1500-ft. mountain spots a campsite.
nlexa [21]

Answer: The distance from the campsite to the foot of the mountain is 2310 ft (approx)

Step-by-step explanation: We have been given that the scout on the mountain top has spotted a campsite and he did so while looking down from a 33° angle of depression. If we label his position as point A, the foot of the mountain as point B and the campsite as point C, then it means the scout has formed an angle of 57° between point A and point B. Now we have a right angled triangle ABC with angle A measuring 57°

Using the trigonometrical ratio of tangent

Tan A = opposite/adjacent

Tan 57 = BC/1500

1.5399 = BC/1500

When you cross multiply both sides you have

1.5399 × 1500 = BC

2309.85 = BC

Approximated to the nearest foot,

BC = 2,310 ft

January 26 nyree company borrowed cash from Conrad Bank by issuing a 45 day note with a face value of $150,000. Assume a 360 day
Rom4ik [11]

Answer:

The proceeds of the note will be $150,000.

Step-by-step explanation:

To Determine:

Determine the proceeds of the note, assuming the note carries an interest rate of 10%.

Information Fetching and Solution Steps:

  • On January 26, Nyree company borrowed cash from Conrad Bank by issuing a 45 day note with a face value of $150,000.
  • Assume a 360-day year.

In the context of accounting, a note generally cites to a pledge - also know as agreement - to pay a certain given amount of money in the future at a mentioned date - also known as a promissory note.

The proceeds are $150,000. The reason for the logic is because proceeds equal to face value. So, note issued is at face value of $150,000. The issued note was not discounted.

Therefore, the proceeds of the note will be $150,000.

Keywords: promissory note, face value
