The poet essentially seems to be saying that although "it is the blight man was born for" (Hopkins 14), there will come a day where she is used to the knowledge, and "it will come to such sights colder" (Hopkins 6). Because of this, it appears that the advice he would be most likely to give to her is to grow accustomed to the idea of her own death sooner rather than later, because there is no use in mourning the inevitable. Indeed, she would be better off to accept it now, and to live life while she still can, than to live in fear, until her fears come to fruition, especially since death is not necessarily a bad thing.
