Jean-Louis Lebris de Kerouac, better known as Jack Kerouac, was an American writer of French-Canadian ancestry and one of the leaders of the literary movement known as Generation Beat.
Jack Kerouac wrote his masterpiece "On The Road," a book that would later be enshrined as the "Hippie Bible" in just three weeks. The writer's mind-boggling narrative and the use of slang impressed his editors a great deal. Jack used a typewriter and a series of large sheets of butter paper, which he cut to serve in the machine and joined with tape so he did not have to change sheets every time. He wrote in an uninterrupted manner, invariably without the worry of pacing the flow of words with paragraphs.
