Answer: 108 rooms

Step-by-step explanation: To solve this problem, we can set up a proportion. In the numerator of our first fraction, we will have the number of rooms Robin can clean and in the denominator, we have the time it takes him to clean 72 rooms which is 6 days.

In our second fraction, we don’t know how many rooms he can clean in 9 days. In fact, that’s what the problem is asking. Since we don’t know how many rooms Robin can clean in 9 days, we can put a variable in the numerator is our fraction. A variable is a letter that represents any number. I will use the variable “x” in this problem. In the position of the denominator, we have the time it takes him to clean X rooms which is 9 days.

Solving from here, we can use cross products so we multiply diagonally.

We have 72 rooms over 6 days equals X rooms over 9 days or 648 = 6x.

Solving from here, divide both sides by 6 and we find that x is equal to 108 which means that Robin can clean 108 rooms in 9 days.

Answer: 108 rooms

To figure out how many rooms Robin can clean in a day divide 72 by 6

72/6 = 12

Knowing that Robin can clean 12 rooms per day, we can figure out the equation for this problem. Let x represent the days.

y=12x

We know that we have to clean a certain amount of rooms in 9 days. Let’s substitute 9 for x.

y=12x

y=12(9)

Now let’s solve for our final answer.

y=12(9)

y=108

givi [52]

Given :

Brianna is a waitress in an upscale restaurant. On Friday she waited on 12 groups of customers who spent an average of $186 per group.

Her tips averaged 18% of the total amount spent by all the groups of customers that day.

To Find :

Brianna's tip income earnings on Friday.

Solution :

Total amount of money spent by 12 groups :

P = $ 12×186 = $2232 .

She got tip of 18% of the total amount spent by all the groups of customers.

T = P\times \dfrac{20}{100}\\\\T= 2232\times \dfrac{20}{100}\\\\T=\$446.4

Brianna's tip income earnings on Friday is $446.4 .

Hence, this is the required solution.
