In my opinion :

If someone trusts you and is open with you then you have to do the same to make it fair for that person. Its kinda cruel to not return the trust someone gives to you. Not trusting or being open with someone who cares about you can be judged differently. Not everyone can be open especially if the thing thats bothering them is something not to talk about, tho its rude to push away someone who cares about you, so atleast you have to be nice to them. Also even if that person cares about someone, they shouldn't force that person to be open with them.
