The "C)He resists sending his daughter to Hill Farm Sanatorium because of the expenses involved" action in the scene most clearly supports Carmody's desire to save money. Carmody agrees that his daughter must undergo the doctor's treatment to heal her. However, he argues about the Hill Farm Sanatorium's cost of treatment.

What message do you think Chaucer was trying to communicate through the Wife of Bath’s Tale?
nikklg [1K]

Answer:

The theme that is clearly displayed in "The Wife of Bath's Tale" from Chaucer's Canterbury Tales is that women desire to have the same sovereignty over men that men have over them or, simply, to be equal to men and that when this lesson is manifested, the resulting union is a happy one.Explanation:

If you could hop in a time machine and travel to any place in the past ,where would it be and why?
zzz [600]

Answer:

Or July 21, 1969 and from the point of view of Neil Armstrong himself as he walked on the moon.

Or maybe I’d be Abraham Lincoln on the day he delivered the Gettysburg Address. We all practiced that speech in school, so how awesome would it be to actually give it!

Or I could be a visitor to the Roman Senate on the Ides of March. Begin the day by exploring ancient Rome and then end it by watching one of the most important assassinations in the history of the world. Popcorn optional.

I think part of the rule has to be that you can’t meaningfully interfere with what happened on that day — otherwise we’d probably all be morally compelled to go back in time and kill Hitler circa 1929.

_________

I’m going to make two adjustments:

1) I’ll add a follow-up question about which date you’d pick in the future. So let’s say this: You have a time machine that allows you to enter a specific date and location, and you’re taken then/there for one day (it teleports you to the location too). You arrive at 6am and 18 hours later, at midnight, you’re safely returned to the present day in your home. It can be used once to bring you to the past and once to the future. Then it disappears.

2) I like the idea of actually being in the eyes of a person in history, but let’s say you can also choose to just be you plopped down there if you want to.

how does the division of the poem into two stanzas contribute to its meaning? in the peom a dream within a dream by edgar allen
hodyreva [135]

Answer:

The two stanzas contributed to the meaning of the poem " A dream within a dream" because although the stanzas are not identical in length, their similar use of iambic rythm and couplets and triplets in their end rhyme scheme helps create a pattern which matches the parrallel of their ideas.

Explanation:

The two stanzas are linked through the ironic similarity of their nature. The first stanza of the poem shows the first person point of view of the narrator parting from a lover and afger bidding goodbye from his lover, He thinks that their union is nothing but a dream. whereas the second stanza places futilely trying to grasp a handful of sand in his hand. The grains of sand suggest those found in an hour glass.
