I have a problem -3x-7=-13. When isolating x I divide x by -3 then divide -13 by -3 correct?

no, that is not the correct way to isolate x. you were somewhat on the right track however.

here's the correct way:

add 7 to both sides to get -3x = -6

then divide both sides by -3 to get x = 2
