In the event I get pulled over for a traffic stop, the situation can turn precarious if I don’t obey the laws of the land. The situation from the officer’s perspective is as follows-

Explanation:

The law officer has probably found me guilty of violating the traffic law on some counts. Hence, he has pulled me over. He expects me to cooperate with him in the formalities lest he needs to get me busted. Moreover, he would be keeping a keen watch on my actions and behaviour to read my intentions.

As soon as I am pulled over for a traffic stop I should-

1.Since I am in traffic, I should not ram my brakes hard amidst the traffic thus creating chaos. Rather I should slow down my vehicle and simultaneously turn on my indicator signal to signify my willingness to turn.

2.Either I should pull my car to either of the sides or gently drive to any of the near bylanes.

3.I must stay calm. Anxiety signals bad intentions. I would turn my engines off and lower the driver side window to let the officer approach me. However, I should desist from getting out of my car unless he asks me specifically to do so.

Answer:

Dealing with traffic related issues

Explanation:

The police officer are primarily charged with the primary responsibilities of maintaining law and order in any given society.

From the police officer's perspective when I get pulled for a traffic stop it is expected that

As a first rule is to always be polite to the officer. Greet the officer with a warm and friendly smile as this will lower his or her fears.

Always follow instructions and give the officer your license, registration and insurance information when they ask for it.

Treat the officer with respect and courtesy.

Always remove your sunglasses and maintain eye contact with the officer. Most law enforcement officials view this as a sign that you are being truthful.

Remain as inconspicuous as possible. If the officer doesn’t remember certain aspects of the incident, this can work to your advantage in court.

The additional two (2) things you need to do make traffic stop go smoothly are:

1) Ensure you maintain a high sense of dutifulness in cause of performing your responsibility,

2) Ensure you put on a user friendly welcome to the road users this help to make them feel safe and secured.
