ns later, a much smaller proportion of these insects die when sprayed with the same chemicals. Fewer insects are killed today because _____.
A. mosquitoes are deliberately adapting themselves to this man-made change in the environment
B. mosquitoes that survive spraying develop an immunity to the insecticide
C. many mosquitoes today are descendants of mosquitoes with insecticide-resistant characteristics

Answer:

C. many mosquitoes today are descendants of mosquitoes with insecticide-resistant characteristics

Explanation:

When insecticides were first sold, they where highly effective in killing mosquitoes but few mosquitoes will definitely survived. If these mosquitoes that survived mate together, they will produce hybrid offspring that possess characteristics that are insecticide-resistant. The more insecticide-resistant mosquitoes that breed together in subsequent generations, the more permanent mutant hybrid offspring will be produced which will eventually make them to become resistant to the use of insecticides over them.

Atoms that have gained or lost electrons are called
Anna71 [15]

Answer:

Atoms have the same number of electrons and protons and hence have net 0 charge. When an atom gains or loses an electron, it attains a net charge and becomes an ion. When electrons are lost (or donated), the resulting ion is called cation. When electrons are gained, the resulting ion is called an anion.

In sanger sequencing, what causes dna synthesis to terminate at a specific base?.
vodka [1.7K]

Hydroxyl-free nucleotide triphosphates causes DNA synthesis to terminate at a specific base in sanger sequencing.

What is sanger sequencing?

 • The "chain termination method," often known as Sanger sequencing, is a technique for figuring out the nucleotide sequence of DNA.
 • The Sanger Sequence is a method that was created in 1977 by two-time Nobel laureate Frederick Sanger and his colleagues.

What is DNA synthesis?

 • Deoxyribonucleic acid molecules are produced either naturally or artificially during the process of DNA synthesis.
 • A macromolecule known as DNA is composed of repeated nucleotide units joined together by covalent and hydrogen interactions.
 • DNA biosynthesis takes place during the replication process that occurs when a cell divides.
 • The DNA double helix is separated, and then, using the parent DNA chain as a template, a complementary DNA strand is synthesized.
