a) We have been given two similar figures and we have to find ratio of perimeters of these figures.

Let a be given side of larger figure and b be the given side of smaller figure. Let p_{1} \text{ and } p_{2} be the perimeters of two figures and A_{1} \text{ and } A_{2} be the areas of the two figures.

We know that perimeters of two similar figures are in the ratio of corresponding sides.

\frac{p_{1}}{p_{2}}=\frac{a}{b}

We have been given, a=26\text{ and }b=6

Therefore, upon substituting these values in the above equation, we get

\frac{p_{1}}{p_{2}}=\frac{26}{6}

\frac{p_{1}}{p_{2}}=\frac{13}{3}

(b)

Further we know that areas of two similar figures are in the ratio of squares of corresponding sides.

\frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}=\frac{a^{2}}{b^{2}}\\
\frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}=\frac{26^{2}}{6^{2}}\\
\frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}=\frac{676}{36}\\
\frac{A_{1}}{A_{2}}=\frac{169}{9}\\

Therefore, first option is the correct answer.

SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME 3/4(x+4)=1/4(x+8)
Troyanec [42]

Answer:

x=-2

Step-by-step explanation:

To solve this equation, we can use PEMDAS or Order of Operations.

Parenthesis

Exponents

Multiplication>Division

Addition>Subtraction

Using the various properties can also help make the equation easier.

First, solve for parenthesis using the distributive property.

Our equation is now : 3/4x+3=1/4x+2

Now, subtract 2 on both sides, to cancel out the positive 2 on the right.

3/4x+1=1/4x

Now subtract 3/4x from both sides.

1=-2/4x

Finally, to isolate x, divide both sides by -2/4

1/-2/4=-2

x=-2

Hope this helps!

If Y varies directly with X solve the following :
BARSIC [14]

Answer:

a) x = -270

b) y = 304/9 or y = 33.78

c) x = -37.8

Step-by-step explanation:

y varies directly with x so y = kx

a)

y = kx

k = y/x

k = 10/-30 = -1/3

So

y = -1/3 x

If y = 90 then

90 = -1/3 x

x = 90 *(-3) = -270

b)

k = y/x

k = -19/-4.5

k = 38/9

So

y = 38/9 x

If x = - 8 then

y = 38/9 *(-8)

y = 304/9 or y = 33.78

c)

k = y/x

k = -4.3 / 12.9

k = - 1/3

So

y = -1/3 x

If y = 12.6 then

12.6 = -1/3 x

x = 12.6 *(-3)

x = -37.8

nexus9112 [7]

Answer:

No they will no have the same strength. So what I did was find a common number between them so between 8 and 6 they both can be multiplied to 24. So 6 goes into 24 4 times so I multiplied 3 times 6 and then 8 goes into 24 3 times so I multiplied 3 and 5 and so the final answer is that bart has more strong fertilizer

Step-by-step explanation:

6*4=24 4*3=12

8*3=24  5*3=15
