The value of –3mn + 4 = –3 when m = 2 and n = 4 is –20

Solution:

Given expression is –3mn + 4 = –3.

To find the value of –3mn + 4 = –3 when m = 2 and n = 4.

⇒ –3mn + 4 = –3

Add 3 on both sides of the equation.

⇒ –3mn + 4 + 3 = –3 + 3

⇒ –3mn + 7 = 0

Substitute m = 2 and n = 4

⇒ –3 × 2 × 4 + 7

Using BODMAS rule first do the multiplication.

⇒ –6 × 4 + 4

⇒ –24 + 4

⇒ –20

Hence the value of –3mn + 4 = –3 when m = 2 and n = 4 is –20.

What is the common ratio of the sequence?<br> -2,6,-18,54
aivan3 [116]

<u>ANSWER</u>

The common ratio is -3.

<u>EXPLANATION</u>

In general, the common ratio of a Geometric Sequence is given by:

r = \frac{a_{n+1}}{a_{n}}

We can find the common ratio using any two consecutive terms of the geometric sequence by dividing the subsequent term by the previous term.

The given sequence is -2,6,-18,54

Using the first two terms the common ratio is

r =  \frac{6}{ - 2}  =  - 3

We could also used the second and third terms to get

r =  \frac{ - 18}{6}  =  - 3

and so on and so forth.

Therefore the common ratio is -3.

Answer:

y=2/5x-15

Step-by-step explanation:

y-y=m(x-x¹)

y-(-11)=2/5(x-10)

y+11=2/5x-4

-11 -11

y=2/5x-15
