Things Fall Apart is a novel written by Chinua Achebe. It tells the story of the life of Okonkwo who was the leader of an Igbo community in a country in Africa. He was actually banished from his community after he accidentally killed a clansman. The story depicts the pre-colonial life in the southeast part of a country in Africa.

Okonkwo was known for being an action man. He doesn't like be a weakling. But Uchendu takes time to analyse things before taking action.

The killing of the white man in Abame actually builds tension in the reader as he thinks of what the British may do next for their citizen who was killed.
