Answer: Olive branch petition was the first action of the Congress to show the conflicted mind of the delegates of the American people.

Explanation:

Thomas Jefferson and John Dickinson were the two leaders who tried to overcome the polarities of the congress. They wrote about it in their documents, collectively called as Olive Branch Petition.
