Answer: To keep power and prevent support for the French

Explanation:

When the Naturalization Act was passed in 1798, the United States stood on the brink of war with France. The Federalist party believed that many immigrants would side with France if war had broken out so they tried to limit the number of immigrants that could become citizens so that they do not negatively influence any war effort.

They also wanted to keep power away from the Democratic-Republican party under Jefferson who had massive support amongst immigrants. They feared that if more immigrants became citizens, they would vote the Federalists out of power.

Jefferson Davis frequently clashed with his Cabinet in the Confederate government. Why?
lapo4ka [179]

Davis maintained national unity to secure independence, while his cabinet stressed ‘state rights’. During his time of office, stuff did not go okay for him. He was often in difference with his Cabinet, Congress, the governors of the Confederate States, plus with the generals of the Confederate Army. The Confederate government could not give the impression to work well together, which eventually showed to be a reason for the Confederacy’s defeat.

How did the establishment of the Roman Confederation change the way conquered people felt about their conquerors?
nikitadnepr [17]

Roman confederation gave the people more rights and allowed them to have their culture.

Explanation:

Roman confederation and the eventual empire that became from it had one very different purpose fro the others in that it did not differentiate with the new citizens of the country who had come in by conquest.

Instead all they had to do was pay taxes and recognize themselves as roman citizen.

They could keep speaking their language and worshiping their religion as well as have abilities to control and garner wealth in certain alliances too making it good to be a roman citizen for them.
