A free enterprise economy is one which is free of government control. In this type of economy, businesses can freely decide which goods and services they want to provide, and how much they will charge for them. Consumers can also decide how much they will pay for each of these goods and services. However, no economy is completely free and the government often intervenes to regulate the market. The primary reason for this is that the government needs to ensure that competition is maintained, and that monopolies do not occur.
