He has remarried.

In the passage, it says that "yesterday he went to wed". The action wed means to get married. We don't have any indication that he has died or moved away. We also don't see anything about him coming to visit. The speaker is talking to someone who appears at her grave thinking it is her husband, but it's not since he has gone to marry someone else.
