Which of the following statements about telomerase is false? Which of the following statements about telomerase is false? Telome

rase is a ribonucleoprotein. Telomerase acts to elongate the 3' end of linear DNAs. Telomerase has reverse transcriptase activity. Telomerase replaces the final RNA primer with DNA during DNA replication. Telomerase generates a new primer:template junction by providing its own template.

Answer:

Telomerase acts to elongate the 3' end of linear DNAs.

Explanation:

The 5' ends of the linear DNA can not be replicated by DNA polymerase due to the absence of free 3' end to be elongated. This is prevented by the action of telomerase enzyme which contains both RNA and protein components. The RNA component of the telomerase is 150 nucleotides long.

The telomerase enzyme elongates the 3' end of the template strand by using its inbuilt RNA template. Since it uses an RNA template to make the DNA copies, it is a reverse transcriptase. Repeated translocation and repositioning of the enzyme elongates the 3' end of the template DNA.

The RNA primase makes the RNA primer at the end of the new telomere strand which is then elongated by DNA polymerase. DNA ligase seals the nick. In this way, telomerase serves to prevent the loss of 5' ends of linear DNA in successive rounds of DNA replication.

1. what is the difference between  facts theory and hypothesis
ioda

Answer:

1. Fact: Observations about the world around us. Example: “It’s bright outside.”

Hypothesis: A proposed explanation for a phenomenon made as a starting point for further investigation. Example: “It’s bright outside because the sun is probably out.”

Theory: A well-substantiated explanation acquired through the scientific method and repeatedly tested and confirmed through observation and experimentation. Example: “When the sun is out, it tends to make it bright outside.”

3. As a field of science, biology helps us understand the living world and the ways its many species (including humans) function, evolve, and interact. Advances in medicine, agriculture, biotechnology, and many other areas of biology have brought improvements in the quality of life.

5. Its the ending answer/result of the experiment.

In what places have bacteria resistant to antibiotics caused particular problems?
GenaCL600 [577]

Answer:

Bacteria that are non-controlled or destroyed by antibiotics are antibiotic-resistant bacteria. In the presence of an antibiotic, they will live and even develop. At least certain antibiotics can become immune to most infection-causing bacteria.

Explanation:

Some bacteria are immune to such antibiotics naturally. In most species found within the human digestive system, for example, benzylpenicillin has very little impact.
