Institutional oppression is a form of systemic oppression, whereby an institution (e.g university of government) intentionally discriminate a group of people based on their identity, such as race and class.While another group benefits. These intentional disadvantages are supported and enforced by the institutions policies and laws, and supported by society.

Examples of the intersection between systemic and institutional oppression:

1. Biased policies used in hiring. A company may seek a candidate who will work 6 days a week and extra hours each week. This will result in little to no women being hired because of the potential that she might (if not already) have kids, thus unable to work long hours and weekends.

2. Institutional racism in the housing sector. Black individuals are denied home loans because they are assumed to be living in high risk neighborhoods (racial profiling), while their White counterparts are assumed to live in safe neighborhoods, thus are eligible for home loans

The Great Pyramid at Giza, Egypt was constructed between 2584 and 2561 BC.  It is located in Giza, Egypt. Pyramids were made to serve as tomb for the pharaohs and their queens. In this case it was built for Egyptian Pharaoh Khufu or Cheops. It is believed by some that the architect was Hemiunu also known as Hemon.

The Hanging Gardens of Babylon were build between 605-562 BC by King Nebuchadnezzar II as a gift to his wife. They were located in the ancient city of Babylon in Iraq.  

The Statue of Zeus at Olympia, Greece was built from 430 to 422 BC by a Greek sculptor named Phidias.  It was placed in the Temple at Olympia Greece. It was made to honor Zeus the king of Greek gods. The statue was later carried to Constantinople where it was later destroyed by an earthquake.

The Temple of Artemis at Ephesus was completed by 550 BC, it took 120 years to built. It was located in Ephesus, a Greek colony in Asia Minor, now in western Turkey. It was sponsored by the King Croesus of Lydia with the purpose of honoring Artemis, one of the three main goddesses of Olympus.  

The Mausoleum at Halicarnassus was built in 351 BC it is in Halicarnassus, Persia (now Turkey). It was the tomb of Persian Satrap Mausolus. It was built by his wife Artemisia II. It was used as the tomb of Mausolus and later the ashes of his wife Artemisa were entombed with him in the mausoleum. The structure was designed by Greek architects Satyros and Pythius of Priene.

The Colossus of Rhodes is a statue of the god Helios, the patron god of the island of Rhodes, Greece.  It was built between 292 and 280 BC by Chares of Lindos.  It was made to celebrate Rhodes’ victory over the ruler of Cyprus.  

The Lighthouse of Alexandria, located in the island of Pharos, Egypt. Construction was completed around 280 BC.  It was built in the island of Pharos ordered by Ptolemy Soter. Its purpose was to serve as a lighthouse or guide for ships getting into the busy harbor of Alexandria, Egypt.  It was one of the tallest man made structures of the ancient world.

To be clear, the mental disease could be a legal term touching on a defendant's ability to work out right from wrong once a criminal offense is committed that an individual cannot distinguish fantasy from reality. He cannot conduct her/his affairs because of psychopathy or is subject to uncontrollable impulsive behavior.
