The main problem with the American election process is the potential of corruption between candidates and donors. Money exerts undue power and influence in the U.S. elections.

Campaign contributions are just masked bribe. So people offering a lot of donation tend to hold the power over the candidate. Using money to control a democracy defeats the concept or the purpose of democracy.

Unlike candidates and politicians entities that sponsor are less accountable one they are anonymous and two it is not illegal to donate money to a candidate who is contesting the elections.
