Answer:

The Spanish were the first to reach America. They developed missionaries and opened mines of gold and silver. Their main reason for settlement in the New World was to generate wealth for their Empire(Spain).

The English came America to settle here, they build homes and churches, soon started cultivating crops, did trade. Most of the settlers came to start a new life away from war and unrest in Europe.

French came to trade with the Natives. They brought Protestantism and catholic in North America.

The Dutch settlers remained in the coastal region and built forts, From there they did trading with the Indians.
