Define sharia law and explain its impact on governments in the Middle East
NikAS [45]
Sharia law is a legal system based on Islamic holy scriptures. Its impact on middle eastern governments is huge because many aspects of this religious law are incorporated in the official state law. This seems odd to western countries because they are more secular than middle eastern countries.

Write an example of a group that formed a confederation in the southeast
aniked [119]

Answer:

Articles of Confederation created a weak national government with most of the governmental powers retained by the states. The Articles provided no separation of branches. There was no president or any other independent executive, nor was there a federal judicial branch. Congress, the legislature, was the only branch of government. Members elected to congress did not vote as individuals, but as states.

One main difference between the United States Constitution and state constitutions is that state constitutions
Ilia_Sergeevich [38]
A main difference between the United States Constitution and state constitutions are that state constitutions are subservient to the U.S. Constitution and can only outline powers which are allowed to states by the U.S. Constitution. States cannot enumerate for itself powers that are not allowed to the state by the U.S. Constitution. Therefore, the U.S. Constitution is the highest law of the land and cannot be changed or adapted as a result of a state constitution.
