Nikki will have to buy 29.95 dollars * 12.25 gallons. Therefore she needs 366.89 dollars to spend on paint.

Since you can't by 1/4 of a bucket of paint you round 12 up to 13. next you multiply the cost of each gallon (29.95) by the number needed (13) when you do this you get 29.95*13=398.35 so she would spend $398.35

For an independent t-test, if the mean of group 1=10, mean of group 2=12, ss1 =5, ss2=8, there are 6 individuals per group. what
eimsori [14]

The value of t obtained is 4.76

Given,

Mean of group 1, M_{1} = 10

Mean of group 2, M_{2} = 12

SS_{1} = 5

SS_{2} = 8

Number of individuals per group, n = 6

The degrees of freedom are calculated as:

df = (n_{1} -1)+(n_{2} -1) = ( 8-1) + (8-1) = 7 + 7 = 14

The difference between sample means M_{d} is:

M_{d} = M_{1} -M_{2} = 10 - 12 = 2

Here n is equal for both groups which is = 8

Now,

The standard deviation of sample 1 :

s_{1} =\sqrt{\frac{SS_{1} }{n_{1} -1} } = \sqrt{\frac{5}{8-1} } = \sqrt{\frac{5}{7} } = 0.85

The standard deviation of sample 2 :

s_{2}= \sqrt{\frac{SS_{2} }{n_{2}-1 } } = \sqrt{\frac{8}{8-1} } = \sqrt{\frac{8}{7} } = 1.07

Now, we have to calculate the standard error for the difference of the means.

MSE = \frac{(n_{1}-1)s^{2} _{1}+(n_{2}-1)s^{2} _{2}    }{(n_{1}-1)+(n_{2}-1)  }

       = \frac{(8-1)(0.85^{2})+(8-1)(1.07^{2})  }{(8-1)+(8-1)}

       = \frac{10.1318}{14}

  MSE  = 0.7237

Then, the standard error can be calculated as:

s_{M_{d} } = \sqrt{\frac{2MSE}{n} } = \sqrt{\frac{2  * 0.7237}{8} } = 0.42

Now we can calculate t :

t=\frac{M_{d} }{s_{M_{d} } } = \frac{2}{0.42} = 4.76

Hyperbola Question:
AveGali [126]

Answer:

\dfrac{x^{2}}{1210000 } - \dfrac{y^{2}}{5759600} = 1

Step-by-step explanation:

A hyperbola is a curve for which the difference of the distances |d₂ - d₁| of any point P from the foci is constant.

The definition leads to the equation

\dfrac{x^{2}}{a^{2}} - \dfrac{y^{2}}{b^{2}} = 1

1. Calculate the value of a²

Assume the neighbours are at the foci A and B.

The explosion is farther from B than from A, so it occurred on the right branch of the hyperbola.

Then AB = 1 mi = 5280 ft

and the distance from the focus to the y-axis is

c = 2640

The vertices are (±a,0).

The speed of sound is 1100 ft/s, so B is 2200 ft further from the explosion.

The distance from A to the vertex V₁ is c - a. Then

AB = 2200 + 2(c - a) = 2200 -2(2640 - 2a) = 2200 +5280- 2a = 5280

2a = 2200

a = 1100

a² = 1 210 000

2. Calculate the value of b²

\begin{array}{rcl}a^{2} + b^{2} & = & c^{2}\\1100^{2} + b^{2} & = & 2640^{2}\\b^{2} & = & 2640^{2} - 1100^{2}\\& = & 6969600 - 1210000\\& = & \mathbf{5759600}\\\end{array}

3. Write the equation for the hyperbola

\mathbf{\dfrac{x^{2}}{1210000 } - \dfrac{y^{2}}{5759600}} = \mathbf{1}

Find the median of the following set of numbers.<br> {36, 16, 24, 33, 49}
nignag [31]

Answer:

33

Step-by-step explanation:

First, you need to put it in numerical order: 16, 24, 33, 36, 49

Next, find the number in the MIDDLE of it, which would be 33.

So, the answer is 33.
