Answer:

  16 tricycles

  12 bicycles

Step-by-step explanation:

If all were bicycles, there would be 28·2 = 56 wheels. Each additional wheel indicates the presence of a tricycle instead of a bicycle.

There are 72 -56 = 16 tricycles. The remaining 28-16 = 12 are bicycles.

Which of the following graphs could represent a quartic function?
Scilla [17]

Answer:

Graph A

Basically a graph of a function will have no turns if linear, 1 turn if quadratic, 2 turns if cubic, and 3 terms if quartic.

Graph A has a small turn on its right side.

Maura drives to work, a distance of 30 miles in 40 minutes. she takes the same route to return home. if her average speed on the
Viefleur [7K]

Well to solve this firstly we should calculate her average speed while she was going to work. Which comes out to be 45 miles per hour.

Now if her average speed while going home is half as fast as while coming to work was, the answer would be 22.5 miles per hour. So the average speed for the total journey would be the average for these two values. As the distance was same for both the journeys we can simply do 45 + 22.5 / 2 = 33.75 mph.

What ia cos 16°? Please help me
LuckyWell [14K]

This is a terrible question. Send the publisher a nasty note.

First let's answer the question.

Cosine is adjacent over hypotenuse, so the cosine of the angle labeled 16 degrees is 24 (the adjacent side to 16 degrees) divided by 25 (the hypotenuse).

Answer: 24/25

---------

Now I'm going to complain about the question.  24/25 is of course 0.96 exactly, while

cos 16° ≈ 0.96126169593831886191649704855706487352569

They're not the same, and never think 24/25 is the cosine of 16 degrees.  It's approximately the cosine of 16 degrees; there's a big difference.

The cosine of 16 degrees is some awfully complicated algebraic number, a zero of some high degree polynomial with integer coefficients.  Worse yet, the angle whose cosine is 24/25 is almost certainly a transcendental number, not the zero of any such polynomial.

Trigonometry as practiced forces approximations to be employed.  Let's not sweep that under the rug in the questions, please.
