The author Anita Desai had a lot of changes in pace during Games at twilight. Some of the changes of pacing are:
1. The kids are about to play hide and seek and they are excited and the pace of the story is fast. But as soon as Ravi hides the pace is slow and the story tends to get contemplative and it slowly connects to the thoughts and Ravi's memories.
2. One of the changes in pace that is most exciting is when Ravi finaly decides to finish the game by going to the post and say Den!. By the time he says that, the other kids cannot recognize him. A lot of time has passed and now the kids don't even recognize him. It is such an exciting change of pace and time.
The reader may interpret the story in different ways due to the fact that the perspective of Ravi is in a different pace of the other kids perspective.
Some of the examples of this change of pace are:
- It took them a minute to grasp what he was saying, even who he was.
- Ravi had never cared to enter such a dark and depressing mortuary of defunct household goods seething with such unspeakable and alarming animal life but, Ravi suddenly slipped off the flowerpot and through the crack and was gone.
- for minutes, hours, his legs began to tremble with the effort, the inaction. By now he could see enough in the dark to make out the large solid shapes of old wardrobes, broken buckets, and bedsteads piled on top of each other around him. He recognized an old bathtub
- It grew darker in the shed as the light at the door grew softer, fuzzier, turned to a kind of crumbling yellow pollen that turned to yellow fur, blue fur, gray fur. Evening. Twilight.
- It took them a minute to grasp what he was saying, even who he was. They had quite forgotten him.

Citizenship started in the Athens. If the Athens can do it like a million years ago we should be able to if you spot someone or something suspicious tell a officer or someone that can do something about it.

Some people prefer to have many friends, while others prefer to have only one or two close friends. Think carefully about this i
andreev551 [17]

(maybe not a strong thesis but you can change it up)

It can be nice to have many friends to surround yourself with, but it is better to have few close friends.

Many people feel like it is better to have more friends for reasons such as gaining popularity, (you can add more reasons). While someone with plenty of friends may not look lonely, they can be. There is only a certain amount of people that can truly understand and relate to you.

It may seem appealing to have big sleepovers or going partying with a large group of friends, but you can still have just as much fun with one or two!

You can't trust that many people. You can have 10 or more 'friends', but not all of them are going to keep a secret that you just had to share with someone. This can eventually lead to a heartbreak, or make you feel even lonelier than you ever have before.

It is always nice to have someone safe that you can go to when you can't trust anyone else. Whether your feeling really sad, or are in a dangerous situation that not everybody can know about, you are going to need someone you can trust to stick with you through all of the problems you face.

In conclusion, while going out with tons of friends can look fun, you can feel safe, happy, and have the best time of your life with just one person.

This isn't that long, but hopefully you can build off this and make something longer out of it. Good luck :)
