The damage to ozone layer is done by halogens such as chlorine n bromine. But halogens are very reactive so they are unlikely to reach the ozone layer directly.

Instead the damage is done by atomization of halogen-containing substances, such as halocarbon refrigerants, solvents, propellants, and foam-blowing agents. Their chemical names are chlorofluorocarbon (CFCs), freons and halons.

It can be from Chlorine and Bromine. These two chemicals created are highly popular and deplete the ozone layer at an uncomfortable. This is also known as ODS. (ozone-depleting substances) Basically all that happens is these chemicals strip atoms apart. Thus depleting the ozone layer.
