The effect marijuana stays for several hours after its administration. The effects of the marijuana also depends on the the way it is taken.

If marijuana is smoked then its effects deteriorates after several minutes and if it is eaten its effect is not felt by the body in the starting 2 to 3 hours.

But then after its effect lasts for longer duration of time sometimes more than 24 hours. It does leaves the body easily.They are released very slowly from the fatty tissues.
