Solution:

Let each pond of  jelly beans cost $x.

and each pond of almonds cost $y.

Then we can write

6x+2y=12.......(i)

3x+5y=15.....(ii)

Now solve these two equations together using substitution we get

3x=15-5y

30-10y+2y=12\\
\\
-8y=12-30\\
\\
-8y=-18\\
\\
y=2.25\\
\\
3x=15-5y=15-5*2.25=3.75\\
\\
x=1.25

Hence each pond of jelly bean cost 1.25$

Each pond of almond costs 2.25$

Dale made a model of a lighthouse using a 4 inches=50 feet if the lighthouse is 120 feet tall, how tall is his model
olchik [2.2K]

Answer:

8 2/5 inches!

Step-by-step explanation:

The lighthouse is 120 feet, and 4 inches of height on the model equals 50 feet of height on the lighthouse. 100 divided by 50 = 2, and 4 multiplied by 2 is 8. 20 divided by 50 = 2/5, so the answer is 8 2/5 inches. :)

-3 greater then or equal to &gt; -1
enot [183]
-3 is actually less than -1

it can't be equal because they are 2 different values

and it can't be greater than because if you place -3 and -1 in a number Line, -1 is closer to 0 which equals that -1 is greater than -3

Julian has to read 4 articles for school. He has 8 nights to read them. He decides to read the same number of articles each nigh
daser333 [38]

<u><em>Answer:</em></u>

a. He will have to read half an article per night

b. Fraction of the reading assignment read each night = \frac{0.5}{4}=\frac{1}{8}

<u><em>Explanation:</em></u>

<u>Part a:</u>

<u>We are given that:</u>

number of articles to read = 4 articles

number of nights = 8 nights

To get the number of articles that he should read per night, we will simply divide the the number of articles by the number of nights

<u>Therefore:</u>

number of articles to read per night = \frac{4}{8}=\frac{1}{2} articles per night

<u>Part b:</u>

Now, we know that he will read half an article each night from a total of 4 articles

To get the fraction of the reading assignment read each night, we will divide the number of articles read each night by the total number of assignments

<u>Therefore:</u>

Fraction of the reading assignment read each night = \frac{0.5}{4}=\frac{1}{8}

Hope this helps :)
