One similar thing about Mitosis and Meiosis is that it helps your body continue to reproduce, allowing the growth of new cells so that you survive longer, and taking away old ones. Without this, people would age a lot more quickly, and the amount of years a person lives would drop drastically, if there isn't such thing as the 'division of cells'
