Answer:

The answer to the question: How did the British succeed in taking Quebec, would be, that they were able to draw out the French from the protection of the city, into the Plains of Abraham, in 1759.

Explanation:

The Seven Year War, also known as the French and Indian War, was a conflict that ensued between the French and the English, over issues, particularly, the control of their colonies in America. One of the points in this war, was the desire by the British to push back the French from threatening their own colonies, and take the city of Quebec from them, to protect the waterway accesses into the British colonies. Thus the campaign known as "The Conquest" began and the British, under commander James Wolfe, decided to try and gain the city of Quebec from the French. But because Quebec was naturally fortified, and so difficult to storm, Wolfe decided to surround it and try to force the French to come out of their protected place within Quebec. The siege lasted a year, and things were looking grim for the British, until finally, Wolfe decided to make a frontal attack, towards the heart of the city, with all his forces. The French, of course, fell into the trap, and in 1759 General Louis-Joseph de Montcalm led his army into the hands of the British and thus, in the Battle of the Plains of Abraham, Wolfe defeated the them and gained Quebec.

sleet_krkn [62]
The correct answer is A. President Harry Truman's domestic program was called the Fair Deal. The Fair Deal was the ambitious set of proposals put by Truman to Congress in January 1949, and more generally the term characterizes the whole domestic agenda of Truman's Administration from 1945 to 1953. HELP !! How many new miles of railroad track were laid between 1865 and 1900 ?
Ivenika [448]
Beginning in the early 1870s, railroad construction in the United States increased dramatically. Prior to 1871, approximately 45,000 miles of track had been laid. Between 1871 and 1900, another 170,000 miles were added to the nation's growing railroad system. Much of the growth can be attributed to the building of the transcontinental railroads. In 1862, Congress passed the Pacific Railway Act, which authorized the construction of a transcontinental railroad.
