Is pi a irrational number or a rational number?

Is an irrational number because rational numbers are able to be expressed as a quotient of two integers. 22/7 s not an accurate but an approximate expression of pi so it doesn't work. Also, pi is a decimal that goes on without end but doesn't repeat so it is irrational.
