In eukaryotes, replication takes place in the nucleus as prokaryotes do not have a true nucleus and replication takes place in the cytoplasm. The nucleus of the eukaryotes is the location where genetic material (DNA) is found; in prokaryotes, the genetic material is condensed in the cytoplasm called the nucleoid. There are multiple replication forks or multiple origins of replication in eukaryotes in contrast to prokaryotes which only has one origin of replication. Lastly, replication in eukaryotes occurs at multiple points along the chromosome; in contrast with prokaryotes where it occurs at just one point on the chromosome.

Prokaryotes

The DNA molecule has only one origin of replication.

They lack a nucleus. The DNA replication takes place in the cytoplasm.

Replication happens at only a single point in each chromosome.

Eukaryotes

The DNA molecule unwinds at multiple locations. The DNA molecule has several origins of replication in each chromosome.

DNA is contained in the nucleus, so DNA replication occurs in the nucleus.

Each chromosome replicates as a section. Replication occurs simultaneously at several locations across the length of the chromosome.

Above 380C and below OoC the rate of photosynthesis decreases. Propose a hypothesis to explain why this occurs.
Effectus [21]

Answer:

Enzyme activity decrease at these temperatures.

Explanation:

Photosynthesis is facilitated by the action of various enzymes and involves light and dark reactions. In light reactions chlorophyll absorbs sunlight and creates ATP AND NADPH. In dark reactions carbon is fixed using the ATP and NADPH.

The efficiency of all these activities depends on the activity of enzymes which depends on the temperature. The optimum temperature range where the enzyme activity is optimal is about 10°c - 20°c. At low temperatures and high temperatures enzyme activity is less efficient.

At a temperature above 38°c and below 0°c enzyme activity decreases.

Whether fluctuating rapidly or slowly, environmental forces are always _______. a. static b. weak c. controversial d. dynamic
Alona [7]

Answer:

Option (D)

Explanation:

Environment refers to all the living and non-living components that surround us. There occur various processes such as precipitation, evaporation, weathering and erosion, deposition, and the processes that are associated with the various cycles such as geochemical cycle, nitrogen cycle, carbon cycle, phosphorous cycle and so on.

These processes occur in all the regions on earth and at different rates, and they are comprised of energy that is constantly in the flow from one region to another. These environmental changes and the forces that are involved in it are dynamic in nature.

Thus, the correct answer is option (D).
