Why would pouring salt on slugs help get rid of them? I know the process is diffusion. Would the hypotonic solution (The water i

n the slug) flow towards the hypertonic solution (Salt)? This would cause the slug to shrivel right?

Yep! that's right, the water in the slug tries to go towards the salty solution to even them out causing the slug to shrivel up (because of lack of moisture)
