The solution is x = -5

Step-by-step explanation:

Given equation is:

3^{(x-1)} = 9^{(x+2)}

In order to solve the eponnetial equations, we have to equate the bases of both sides so that the exponents can be put equal

So,

Replacing 9 with 3^2

3^{(x-1)} = (3^2)^{(x+2)}

When there are exponents on exponents, both are multiplied so,

3^{(x-1)} = 3^{(2x+4)}

As the bases on both sides are same, the exponents can be put equal

So,

x-1 = 2x+4

Adding 1 on both sides

x-1+1 = 2x+4+1\\x = 2x+5

Subtracting 2x from both sides

x-2x = 2x-2x+5\\-x = 5\\x = -5

Hence,

The solution is x = -5

Explain why the quotient of two integers with different signs is negative PLEASE.
faltersainse [42]

Answer:

Ok, so we have the fact that plus +minus=minus

Thats the fact. It always works that way that same signs means positive and different means negative, as explained with logic.

4+(-5)

So we know that 4 is positive and -5 is negative

if you look at it through a number line, substracting 5 from 4 you have

3--->2---->1---->0---->-1

Under zero, the negatives start, so its proved by maths and logic as well.

NikAS [45]

Answer:

Step-by-step explanation:

The mean (or average) of a set of numbers can be found with the following formula:

Mean = \frac{A_{1} + A_{2} + ... + A_{N}}{N}

For this problem, we have five numbers, so we add them together and divide by 5:

Mean = \frac{92 + 85 + 78 + 97 + 88}{5}

Mean = \frac{440}{5}

Mean = 88
