It resulted in the loss of economic and technological progress of Western Europe.There was a disruption of trade where merchants faced several invasions resulting in the collapse of their businesses. The Europen cities and towns were also destroyed and abandoned as political and economic and centers. Due to the collapse of the Roman empire, the population of Western Europe became rural as Roman centers of trade had collapsed and infrastructures broken down i.e., roads and drainage systems.
